25% Onliners In MEA Follow Charities On Social Media

Social media is an important resource to raise awareness and promote fundraising initiatives for charities, and the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region has significant number of networkers who are following charitable causes online.

Data from Global Web Index shows that 15 percent of global internet users say they follow charities on social media. In MEA, the number is on the higher side at 25 percent, which is more than any other region.

With one in 10 internet users saying that they use social media to support or promote charitable causes, it’s also evident that social engagement with these organizations will often take on a more active form.
