Much like its elder sibling Facebook, Instagram is constantly working on upping its video offer. Adding to the various updates that the app has had in the last year, Instagram now allows users to save live video to their handheld devices at the end of a broadcast, enabling to use the video for sharing further or just for reference.
“We are excited by how our community is using live video to connect with their friends and followers in the moment. This is just the first of many improvements we’ll be making to live stories this year,” said and official Instagram post.
While live videos will continue to disappear from the app, this update gives users the flexibility to hold onto the video. However, the update only allows for saving the user’s video not including the comments, likes, number of viewers or any live interactions.
