Kaspersky Lab has expanded its presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to bring its technologies closer to customers and partners in the country. Together with local partner Miatech, the company has established a dedicated team of specialists at the office in Riyadh.

The announcement comes as Saudi Arabia continues to witness a surge in Internet adoption and a simultaneous increase in the use of smart connected devices that has significantly expanded the attack surface, exposing both enterprises and consumers to a host of new cyberthreats.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as both the world’s largest oil producer and with the most Internet users in the Arab world, is investing significant resources towards advancing its cyber security capabilities. As government and law enforcement agencies continue to generate awareness and implement policies to protect critical infrastructure and information assets from the growing risk of cyber-attack, the team working in Riyadh is a testament of Kaspersky Lab’s commitment to help reinforce defenses and establish a safer online environment in the country,” said Garry Kondakov, Chief Business Officer, Kaspersky Lab.

At a special event for key customer and partner representatives in the country, Ovanes Mikhaylov, Managing Director, Kaspersky Lab Middle East, elaborated on the company’s strategic roadmap for Saudi Arabia over the coming two years – to lead the market by providing the highest quality solutions and services, and developing channel partners across the region.

“Kaspersky Lab is establishing a new level of investment in the region by creating a work group of local people in partnership with Miatech to deliver excellent customer service, to better support our partners, and offer new products and solutions to the market. With our team of specialists we’ll provide stronger technical, business and sales support, expanding our work with government and private organizations,” commented Mr Mikhaylov.
