Leadership Change @TwitterMENA As Ben Ampen Takes Charge

Parminder Benjamin

As Twitter undergoes change to gear up for its future growth strategy, a key development comes in the geographical break up of the fast growth markets that had so far included Middle East & North Africa, Southeast Asia and India, under the charge of Parminder Singh, as one region.

The break up will now see MENA aligning with the EMEA region and India and Southeast Asia aligning with Asia Pacific. The development will mark the exit of Mr Singh from the social media platform, ending a three-year stint.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Mr Singh also informed that Benjamin Ampen, Head of Revenue, Twitter MENA, would be managing the MENA region.

Mr Singh’s exit, and the changes in Twitter’s regional leadership teams, comes on the heels of Twitter’s decision to lay off 9 percent of its global workforce, a significant portion of which was expected to be in the marketing and sales division.

Mr Singh said on his Twitter feed, “I’ve been working on leadership transition closely and will continue to do so over the next month”, while elaborating on the development.
