MENA Agencies Win Three Bronze Media Lions

Agencies from the Middle East and North Africa regions have won three Bronze Lions in the Media category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

J. Walter Thompson Dubai won a Bronze Lion for ‘I Can Teach You Too’ for Dubai Cares. The campaign focused on kids in developing countries who lack the opportunity of going to school. Dubai Cares created a first-of-its-kind skill exchange between children in developing countries and developed countries. Through YouTube tutorials they taught the children of Dubai the skills they’ve learned.

TBWA\RAAD Dubai won a Bronze for ‘Champions Hijack’ for Go Sport. The campaign used real-time photography data selected and provided by Sport 360 editing team, right at the newspaper’s edition room, to develop ads that ran in the printed and digital platforms. All this data was treated and put together in the space of 30 minutes.

Leo Burnett Beirut won a Bronze Lion for ‘Legally Bride’ for Kafa. Highlighting the issue of child marriage that is rampant in Lebanon where the age of consent in the country is set by religious tribunals, the NGO Kafa, released the ‘Legally Bride’ ad campaign. The staged video stuns all when a grey haired groom marries a 12-year old bride.
