According to the recent report of Google’s top searches in the year 2015, HH Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Iphone 6 and Adele’s Hello topped the search list in the United Arab Emirates.
Google’s Year in Search offers perspective on the year’s major moments and top trends based on searches conducted in the region. The UAE mourned the tragic loss of HH Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as people searched the late Sheikh’s life accomplishments. The iPhone 6s earned the top spot for consumer electronics searches in 2015, and Adele’s Hello topped even the trending song search chart.
UAE Top Trending Queries
After Iphone 6s, other topics that trended in queries included Indian Premier League, Fast and The Furious 7, Ramadan and Agario.
UAE Trending People
Amongst the top five trending people, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum led the list followed by Andrea Brillantes, Lamar Odom, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and Bruce Jenner.
UAE Trending Local Brands
The local brands that trended in the region included Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, souq.com, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Air Arabia and Dubai Police.
Apart from the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia also saw some searches trending. In Egypt the top trending queries included the song Mahragan Mafish Saheb Yetsaheb, TV Show Ramez Wakel El Gaw, University Admission System and about the late actress Mirna El Mohandess.
In Saudi Arabia, the top searches included the death of HH Saud bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud followed by Banat Al-Shams, the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, custodian of the Two Holy Mosques amongst others.
