Zee TV had made a pioneering move with its series ‘Parwaaz’, a highlight of which is that the series is a first by an India-headquartered media company to be completely produced in the UAE. An exclusive telecast in the Middle East region, ‘Parwaaz’ has topped the viewership ratings, according to channel officials.
As per an official communique from Zee TV, the show that debuted on November 8, 2014 has got an “opening rating of 12.52 amongst all South Asians shows in UAE, the highest registered by any shows across any channels in 2014”. The source for the number is Ipsos Stat UAE for the period of Jan to Nov 2014.
Airing at a competitive time band of Saturday evening, the show has competition such as ‘Bigg Boss’ on Colors with the Salman Khan hosted episode, ‘Everest’ on Star Plus and Sony’s long term performer ‘CID’.
‘Parwaaz’ tells a UAE-based storyline of two young men who come from India and Pakistan and whose lives intersect in Dubai. The show also has an Emirati in the star cast who plays a negative lead. The show has been produced by UAE based production house Magnum Opus.
