Data Point: 50% Of Premier League Fans On Social While Watching TV

Second screens will challenge televisions for the attention of Premier League Fans during the final matches. Data from Global Web Index shows that the vast majority of fans are set to reach for their devices as they watch the final games unfold, with 91 percent saying they use another device as they watch TV.

Mobiles will be the key go-to here, being used by 75 percent.

It’s social platforms where these second-screeners are most likely to be heading. With 50 percent using social networks and the same proportion messaging/chatting with their friends, many are evidently keen to connect with other fans and keep up with reactions to games in real-time.
