Huawei Discusses Digital-Led Economic Growth

Huawei hosts Samena Council Leaders’ Summit for the eighth consecutive year. The Summit will be held under the theme ‘Championing Digital Economic Growth from Policy to Reality’ and says to gather industry leaders to discuss the need to drive a digital led economic growth to bring life back on track post COVID-19.

The Summit’s premier virtual destination for leadership aims to open dialogue and exchange expertise on matters ranging from digital economics, value ecosystems and various advanced technologies. This comes at a time when the GCC has become the first region in the world to adopt 5G technology and the Middle has become a reference point for global 5G commercial use.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increased demand for telecommunications networks to support home offices, distance learning and telemedicine to maintain social distancing. In order to meet this demand, 5G technology is said to be the ultimate option to support network pressure, which requires strengthening digital infrastructure to make systems more resilient and sustainable for future.

Huawei, together with carriers and industry partners has explored the application of 5G in more than 300 projects, established multiple 5G joint innovation centers and actively participated in more than 400 standards organizations. This comes in line with Huawei’s vision to integrate ICT capabilities, explains the agency.
