Standard Chartered Appoints New UAE CEO

Standard Chartered has named Rola Abu Manneh as the new Chief Executive Officer for its business in the UAE. Ms Abu Manneh succeeds Julian Wynter, who will be retiring following 26 years of service at Standard Chartered. The appointment is with immediate effect.

Ms Abu Manneh joins from First Abu Dhabi Bank where she served as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Division for the Abu Dhabi region. She brings a wealth of regional experience and has a proven track record in Risk Management, Strategy and Wholesale Banking operations and has a deep understanding of the region.

Rola’s leadership and experience will further strengthen and deepen our client relationships in the UAE and she will play a key role in achieving our aspirations in one of the most strategic markets for the Group. Ms Abu Manneh is a seasoned Emirati banker, having spent the last 25 years in banking and finance. She had held senior level positions in the Domestic and International Banking divisions and in Wholesale Banking.
