GITEX 2016: Boosting Portuguese – UAE Ties

Providing the perfect platform for cutting edge technologies and experiences, the GITEX Technology Week, under the theme ‘Reimagining Realities’ is showcasing business solutions from 19 Portuguese SME’s. The 36th edition of GITEX Technology Week, taking place from October 16-20, is presenting Portuguese IT products and services for businesses and consumers. The delegation aims to build partnerships with Middle East businesses, share best practices and boost bilateral ties between UAE and Portugal.

Among the presenting companies is AtenaT that offers products and consulting services for advanced public payphones, AtenaT’s presence at GITEX is the continuation of its internationalization policy, where the company will present its newest solution for public payphones. AtenaT’s Mario Batista says, “AtenaT´s concept of integrating digital signage in payphones takes public telephony to the future.”

Seeking new partners in foreign markets, Sevways is a Sage X3 development expert, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. This management software helps companies improve performance, simplify processes, eliminate duplicate tasks and gain efficiency.

Rui Martins de Almeida, Managing Director, Information Systems Engineering of Sevways added, “We are based in Portugal, but our business allows us to offer services to companies all over the world and to work remotely. We have taken advantage of this flexibility by delivering projects to many countries across the globe.”

Also present is Innovation Cast that provides innovation management software and strategy consulting. The company is looking for new partners and customers to expand its innovation management offers to the Middle East. Co-founder of Innovation Cast Carlos Mendes comments, “We are proud of our innovation management projects in the Middle East as we were able to surpass even the best expectations. Now, we look forward to present the latest versions of our technology and receive constructive feedback from GITEX participants.”

Another company present at GITEX from the Portuguese delegation is Arquiconsult, an information systems consulting company, based on Microsoft technologies, entitled ‘Gold Certified Partner’. It is a key partner in Microsoft Dynamics implementations.

According to KPMG, Portugal is becoming more renowned as a technology hub, increasingly generating IT talent and attracting investment. KPMG has been running its global BPM Center of Excellence out of Portugal for the last two years, engaging customers in 18 countries including in the Middle East region. KPMG too will be showcasing its Digital Transformation solutions portfolio and its customer success stories to the leading FSI organizations across the region.
