Lulu Says ‘Emirates First’ In New Initiative

In a bid to support the local products and farmers, Lulu Hypermarkets launched the ‘Emirates First’ initiative across all Lulu hypermarkets in the country.

Mohamed Ali Al Shurafa, Director of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi praised the initiative noting, “It will market local products to a large customer base, not only within the country but also at the level of the GCC countries. I appreciate the tireless efforts of the Lulu Group to contribute to supporting the economy and developing the agricultural sector in the country. We thank them very much for their support of Emirati local production and for organizing this unique initiative.”

“Food security and support of local products is one of Dubai’s main economic goals, and the Emirates Awwal initiative supports the local food sector, which will contribute to enhancing the economic and social benefits of the UAE through the rehabilitation of sustainable agriculture. We are very excited to be part of this initiative and we will extend all support to boost the UAE local economy,” stressed Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Economic Department.

Lulu Hypermarket says to work closely with a large number of local companies and organizations to market their products and provide the required support from training, management of operations, packaging and marketing, in addition to distinctive display sites in Lulu stores across all cities of the UAE, and works with a number of leading food products factories in the UAE to market its products under the ‘Lulu’ brand name.

Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Amri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety said, “The UAE leadership is very keen on supporting and marketing local production and strengthening the agricultural sector, the Lulu Group is the largest partner in this vision for several years. We at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority are looking forward to working closely with Lulu Hypermarket to further contribute to increasing the market share of local products through more sales windows and various offers such as this initiative.”

“The group will regularly organize events, festivals and performances through a large marketing campaign to increase the market share of Emirati products, which will thus contribute to strengthening the sectors of agriculture and the local industry, which are the key to Food security for this great nation,” noted Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of the Lulu Group.
