One of the agencies that gave a successful performace at the recently held MENA Digital Awards was OMD MENA. The media agency not only won eight trophies, it was also named ‘Agency of the Year’. The overall performance of its holding company led the Omnicom Group to being named ‘Network of the Year’ at the event.

The awards ceremony, which concluded the two-day Digital Media Forum, saw OMD’s work for Beiersdorf’s Nivea Men ‘Survive the Night’ campaign win Gold in the Best Integrated Digital Campaign category.

SURVIVE THE NIGHT

Keeping pace with the 2014 World Cup which also coincided with the Holy month of Ramadan during which Men fast all day, the campaign wanted to help men survive the night, and look refreshed on the next day. OMD introduced the NIVEA MEN Survival kit. The campaign saw the agency launching a Facebook App that allowed men to enter a code hidden in their kit for a chance to win a grand prize and take over spaces in UAE & KSA for them to spend the evenings watching the games and get refreshed by Nivea Men sampled products.

PERSIL ABAYA REVOLUTION

Henkel’s ‘Persil Abaya Revolution’ received three Silvers for Best Use of Video, Best Integrated Digital Campaign and Digital Activation.

OMD team partnered with 6 of the chosen champions to design and tailor modern Abaya collections and produced 6 pieces of inspirational and interactive content revolving around the designers’ sources of inspiration, styles, journeys, struggles, and even an inside view into their homes and closets. While digital media drove the activation, OMD also tapped into MBC1, a TV station, and kicked off a monthly segment featuring a fashion show for the designers’ work. The campaign contributed to a 5 % boost in sales in KSA.

OMD MENA was the most shortlisted media agency at this year’s awards ceremony, continuing its success streak from last year’s inaugural event where they were also the most awarded media agency.
