SMG Takes On Board Marcus Brown As Global Growth Officer, EMEA

Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has appointed Marcus Brown as the new Global Growth Officer, EMEA. Based in London, Mr Brown will join on 1st June and will report to Iain Jacob, President EMEA, Starcom MediaVest Group.

In this newly created role, Mr Brown will be responsible for building on the growth across the EMEA region and driving performance to deliver the powerful combination of precision, content and technology that is driving competitive advantage for SMG’s clients in today’s fast changing environment.

“I’m thrilled that Marcus is joining our team. He joins us with an extremely impressive track-record of client wins and given his extensive experience will play an instrumental role in the next phase of our transformation and helping build on our continued success,” commented Mr Jacob.

Mr Brown carries with him twenty years of experience with his most recent one being the founding contributor to a new consultancy, working with one of UK’s entrepreneurs in the technology sector to develop a new agency model. He also became a Tech London Advocate – an advocacy group that supports tech start-ups.

Prior to this, Mr Brown spent 13 years with Young & Rubicam Group where he held a number of positions, latterly as Chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam Group Geneva, an international hub for multi-market accounts within the Young & Rubicam Group network. During this time, he was the founding Global Managing Partner for Y&R’s Practice for technology clients – ‘Tech.YR’.

He also held the position of Senior Vice President: Business Development for Wunderman and Y&R in the EMEA region during which time the networks won global accounts including Microsoft and Bacardi as well as numerous regional clients.

This announcement follows the news that SMG has promoted Jodie Stranger to the newly created role of President, GNC EMEA and appointed Kim Kadlec to the also newly created role of President, GNC Americas.
