Food delivery service, Talabat, has appointed Tomaso Rodriguez as its new CEO. In his new position, Mr Rodriguez will be responsible for ramping up Talabat’s presence in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, building new strategic partnerships, while expanding into new offline-to-online ventures.
“Our journey is just beginning. Talabat is, and always will be, a customer-centric company. Our mission is to help people and communities enjoy moments that matter through technology, starting with an integrated food-delivery service that puts people’s happiness and satisfaction at the core of its business,” Mr Rodriguez said.
Prior to joining Talabat, he worked at Singapore-based Grab. He headed Grab’s food division and was credited with growing the food delivery business from one city to a presence in over 200 cities in just 18 months. Previously, he was Head of UberEATS’ regional operations – APAC, and General Manager of a global car-hailing app in Italy and Greece.
Mr Rodriguez started his career as an investor with 360 capital partners, a European fund with USD 500 million under its management, and later founded a startup named AgencyManagement in Italy.
He holds an MBA in strategic marketing from Collège des Ingénieurs, a Harvard Business School Executive Education in Organisational Leadership, and a master’s degree in management engineering from Università Degli Studi di Padova.
