The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is on its sixth day and the organizers have announced the final set of the shortlists. With this, only Integrated and Titanium Lions are the only remaining category. The shortlists for these will be announced on June 23, 2017.
In the meanwhile, agencies from the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region have a total of 21 entries that have made it to the shortlist.
The Creative Effectiveness Lions, which celebrates winners from last year who have proved their impact on the business objectives of the brands, has two shortlists from MENA.
These include J Walter Thompson Beirut’s ‘The Good Note’ for Bou Khalil’s Supermarche and ‘Handle on Hygiene’, that was done by Geometry Global Dubai, with idea creation from Memac Ogilvy, for Unilever.
The Film Craft Lions have eight shortlists from MENA. Leo Burnett, FP7/Cai, J Walter Thompson and Memac Ogilvy Advize Amman have made the cut in the category.

The Film Lions jury has shortlisted 271 pieces of work that are now competing for a Lion. Of these, agencies from MENA have cornered six shortlists. Impact BBDO leads the pack with three entries. FP7/Cai, Leo Burnett Dubai and Y&R Team Red Istanbul have an entry each.
