In a ceremony held at the fourth Emirati Media Forum (EMF), 26 UAE media organizations were honored for supporting national values and interests through their news coverage. The list of honorees included four English language newspapers including Gulf News, Gulf Today, The National and Khaleej Times, among others.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and other senior UAE officials.
The award recognizes the organizations’ professional and objective coverage of regional issues and their role in countering disinformation campaigns.
The annual EMF is underway at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year’s theme examines how the media can influence the role and position of the UAE on a global level, and analyses the key challenges and opportunities in developing the media sector in the UAE.
Dubai Media City is supporting the EMF this year. Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City said, “We are honored to be the leading partner for such a renowned regional event.
