The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is going to hold its 2nd CIM networking event in Dubai. The event to take place on 25th August at Radisson Blu Hotel, will have Rajagopalan A R as its main speaker.

Mr Rajagopalan is Assistant Professor in Amity University, Dubai Campus. He will discuss the psychology of consumer behaviour and the influence of digital media on consumer behaviour and gaining devoted customers.

“This event is a great opportunity to gain insights from Mr Rajagopalan on the psychology of consumer behaviour and how the digital landscape has shaped this behaviour. The question of whether loyalty exists is often raised in marketing circles or whether purchase habits are based on convenience and cost. This session should help provide a different perspective and some key take-aways as well as the chance to network with other local marketers,” commented Philip Wride, Chartered Marketer and the one heading the CIM conference.

Mr Rajagopalan will provide examples of this from his work with companies such as Larsen & Toubro, Lifestyle (Landmark Group), Nigerian Community Development to name but a few.

Digital has become the normal method of communication for brands and consumers but there are nuances of how to appeal to different target groups, which brands should focus on. “In the ever changing world in which we live it is vitally important for brands and marketers to not only understand consumer behaviour but to also embrace it. Some people prefer visual methods which is why retail does well with the likes of Instagram and Pinterest. Others prefer more traditional digital methods like email and receiving news items or offers directly to their inbox. It isn’t just about enhancing a digital presence either, brands first need to understand the consumers they’ve managed to capture the attention of and then plan how to scale that based on measurable ROI’, said Mr Wride.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing is a United Kingdom-based professional body offering training and qualification in Marketing and related subjects, focused on Marketing and Sales for business; together with ongoing support for members.
