Do Gamers Want To Customize Products?

The answer to that question appears to be a yes. Global Web Index asked players of a range of gaming franchises what they want their favorite brands to provide, and some common themes emerged in the answers.

Despite differences in genre and platform, one of the strongest recurring over-indexes across players of different franchises is their desire to have a say in the finished product. Indeed, as many as a fifth of Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto players say they want to be able to customize or personalize products.

A strong sense of community also shines through, with the desire to connect with other fans of the brand being a universally strong over-index too.

Data shows slightly different indexes among the typically ‘casual’ mobile gamer audience of Clash of Clan players. The opportunity to contribute ideas to initial product design is much more important to these gamers.
