GlobalWebIndex has come out with its new chart that gives a preview of two new Mobile audiences: Mobile-First and Mobile-Heavy users.
The research shows that over 40 percent of internet users are Mobile-First, picking mobiles as their most important device and spending at least 30 minutes on these devices each day. Predictably, there are important regional variations at work here; Middle East and Africa (50 percent) and APAC (51 percent ) are at the absolute forefront, posting over double the figures of North America and Europe. In regions like North America and Europe the older populations remain much more committed to PCs and laptops.
Mobile-Heavy users are the ones who spend more than four hours a day online on mobile. In this category MEA also comes a close second to Latin America with around 30 percent.
