The Middle East’s biggest fitness, wellness and sports tradeshow, Dubai Active Industry, which is held in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council, is back this October and is giving startups in the fitness, health and nutrition industry the chance to win a life-changing investment opportunity of up to $500,000, as well as global recognition and exposure through the Draper-Aladdin Startup Challenge (DASC). The challenge is just one part of the show’s aim to provide a bigger platform for SMEs in the fitness and wellness sector this year, with more unmissable talks led by inspirational entrepreneurs and business leaders, and unrivalled networking and business development opportunities than ever before.
Hosted at this year’s Dubai Active Industry on 30th October 2021, the Draper-Aladdin Startup Challenge is a joint collaboration between Venture Capitalist, Tim Draper, and Founder of leading B2B technology company AladdinB2B, Alaa Ismail, and was launched to give innovative startups the opportunity of a lifetime to kick start their businesses. Finalists of the challenge will get the chance to pitch their game-changing business concepts at Dubai Active Industry for the chance to win the prize of up to half a million dollars in investment from DASC, as well as the chance to appear on the leading business TV show, Meet the Drapers, where they will be able to pitch their idea to the Silicon Valley family in front of millions of viewers.
An unmissable opportunity for young companies in the Middle East who are eager to get an edge in the competitive business world, more than 50 startups will get the chance to showcase their initiatives and products at Dubai Active Industry, with only the top ten ideas progressing to the final round of the competition and having the chance to win the incredible prize.
Billionaire investor Tim Draper offered some insight saying: “This is one of the best times in the history of the world to be an entrepreneur. These new technologies are transforming the world in a way that none of us had ever imagined. We’re taking the best ten companies from this competition and we’re going to fund the winner, and that winner is going to get somewhere between $30,000 and $500,000 as an investment, and they have the opportunity to be on Meet the Drapers, that reaches 12 million people, so we’re very excited.”
