Media agency Initiative MENA has bagged the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) account in the Middle East. The agency’s duties will include the social management and paid social advertising activities for the GCC region, focusing on KSA, UAE and Qatar as core markets.
“We are pleased to join forces with Initiative MENA, and look forward to a long-lasting and collaborative relationship. Social media is one of the key platforms for STB to engage with visitors and cultivate an active community of advocates for Singapore. Initiative has innovative digital ideas as well as an experienced team, and we felt that Initiative would be our trusted strategic partner on this journey,” shared Mohamed Firhan Abdul Salam, Area Director, STB MEA.
The agency has been tasked with raising awareness of Singapore as leisure and tourism destination to Middle East based tourists through the promotion of the wide range of cultural, shopping and tourism opportunities that Singapore has to offer.
“Our network strength and team spirit helped secure yet another key social media win, continuing what has already been a hugely successful year for the team. We believe that our ears-to-ground approach and our understanding of social media will help us make a significant contribution to raise awareness of Singapore tourism and help STB achieve their business goals,” commented Ziad Ghorayeb, Head of Digital, Initiative MENA.
“Our proposal to STB during the pitch process was built on unique insights about travelers from the Middle East, and we’re looking forward to putting those plans into action over the next 12 months and beyond,” said Mazher Abidi, Head of Social Media, Initiative MENA.
