UAE has ranked third in the latest report by Brand Finance which listed down the top 10 strongest nation brands. UAE is ahead of some of the most developed countries like Finland, Sweden and Norway.
“In the Middle East, the UAE is the absolute champion of nation brand management. It is the world’s third most powerful, coming behind only Singapore and Switzerland, and the most valuable as well as fastest growing nation brand in the region,” said Andrew Campbell, Managing Director, Brand Finance Middle East.
In the most valuable nation brands list, UAE leads from the region with the brand value at USD 594 billion. This is closely followed by Saudi Arabia valued at USD 575 billion.
For Saudi Arabia, what has impacted the brand value is the social welfare, with Saudi Arabia’s recent decision to lift the ban on issuing driving licenses to women cited as a major step.
Qatar’s brand value dropped by 6 percent, with the nation standing at the 42nd position globally. Last year it ranked at the 36th place. Qatar has a brand value of USD 223 billion, according to Brand Finance.
