Being A Nike Woman In The Arab World Can Be Cool

Nike has gone all out in its latest marketing campaign ‘What Will They Say About You’. Given the upcoming International Women’s Day theme of #BeBoldForChange, the message could not have come at a more perfect time. The sports giant ad campaign supports victory and success of the Arab Woman, who chose aspiring sports career, challenging stereotypes attached to women.

The campaign is created by US based advertising agency Weiden+Kennedy. It features five sportswomen from a range of fields, including Parkour trainer Amal Murad, boxer Arifa Bseiso, fencer Inès Boubakri, singer Balqees Fathi, and figure skater Zahra Lari.

J. Walter Thompson MENA was involved in localizing and adapting the script.

Within the first 10 days, the campaign received more than 1 million views on YouTube and garnered positive response on social media.

While it ends with Nike’s iconic tagline, ‘Just Do It’, the campaign goes far beyond the selling of advanced sportswear, bringing out the spirit of the region and what it is to be a Nike Woman in the Arab World.
