Julio Cesar RodriguezMEC Commerce, MEC’s specialist ecommerce consultancy, is setting up shop in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. MEC Commerce combines the services of a media agency with consultancy, securing delivery of ecommerce strategies.

MEC Commerce MENA will be led by Head of Ecommerce Julio Cesar Rodriguez, whose experience includes ecommerce projects for marketers within the online travel, hospitality and retail sector. The new division is part of the EMEA hub in London, and will be supported by the team there.

“The MENA region is a fast-growing marketplace with significant scope for brands looking to succeed in ecommerce. I believe the launch of MEC Commerce will make a real difference to our clients here,” said Marc Ghosn, General Manager, MEC UAE.

“We start with understanding each brand’s unique consumer purchase journey. Using that insight, we are better poised to create solutions that will grow our clients’ businesses in a world of modern retail,” added Mudit Jaju, Head of MEC Commerce, EMEA.

In a media agency first, MEC launched its regional ecommerce consultancy in April 2015 and has since delivered projects for companies such as Pfizer and Nestlé among others. As ecommerce is becoming a new growth opportunity for brands, MEC has continued to build its expertise in the area by launching MEC Commerce in key markets such as UK, Germany, Poland, Norway, Belgium and now also in MENA.
