Orange Egypt Wins 2017 Lantern

Orange Egypt has won YouTube’s The Lantern Award 2017. This is the second edition of the award that honors most engaging and creative advertisements during Ramadan and Eid in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

This year saw 75 contenders compete for the most engaging Ramadan ad. Content varied from videos centered around family and friends to humorous ads aimed at uplifting Ramadan spirits.

The winner of the 2017 Lantern, Orange Egypt titled “Nothing gets past Mohamed Henedi, won awards as it successful drove high viewership, engagement, and retention amongst all candidates. Humor, tradition, and popular persona were tied together through clever use of special effects which further accentuated the insight and popularity of the ad. Showcasing the scarcity of time during Ramadan proved to strongly resonate amongst the YouTube audience.

Here is a look at the other winners who made to the top ten of the Latern Awards 2017.

Mohammed Ramadan Advertising With the Etisalat Card #TheMostPowerfulCardInEgypt has reached the top ten for being one of the most viewed advertisements during the holy month. The brand “Etisalat Misr’s” creative agency is Tarek Nour advertising and media agency is Initiative Media.

Your Happiness is Power #JoyForTheFirstTime of Vodafone Egypt has also won the award. JWT is the creative agency for this campaign while MEC is the media agency.

Another campaign to win the honors is Gulf Bank’s Ramadan Ad created by OMD.

Another Etisalat Misr ad that made it to the top ten is “Hold on to Your Dreams”. TNA is the creative agency of the advertisement while Initiative is the media agency.

The “Ramadan is Everywhere” campaign by Hyundai was another most talked about and viewed ad on YouTube. Havas Media Middle East is the media agency of for the campaign.

Saudi Telecom’s #MyCampaignForCharity has made it to the list too. Created by creative agency Caviar, Starcom is the media agency for the ad.

The Lantern Award 2017 also awarded Mobily’s Ramadan Ad for being one of the most loved ads by viewers during Ramadan. The creative agency of the ad is Mullon Lowe while Initiative Riyadh is its media agency.

Toyota’s “Happy Ramadan Khbayyis” has made it to the list as well.

Kuwait Telecommunication Company – VIVA campaign “Add Color to Your Life” made it to the top ten as being one of the most creative ads in the holy month. The creative agency of the ad is “Piston Kuwait” while Starcom MediaVest Group is the media agency of the campaign.
