‘Sting Launch Campaign’ Wins Effie MENA Grand Prix

When it comes to advertising, it just isn’t about the great ideas but ideas that inspire and drive growth. That is where the ‘Sting Launch Campaign’ stood out and won the Grand Prix at 2015 Effie MENA Awards.

Sting Energy Drink, a product of PepsiCo International, within months of its launch in Egypt, became the market leader in Egypt with almost 55 per cent of market shares, expanding the energy market by 400 per cent. It sold more cans in three months than the entire category in six months. The campaign took cues from daily challenges of Egyptians and changed them into sporting events, hence resonating with the consumer market instantly. The agencies behind the campaign Impact BBDO and OMD Media Direction were honored with the award.

The 7th Effie MENA Awards held in Dubai honored the most effective agencies, marketers and brands with the aim of applauding excellence in marketing effectiveness and to promote best marketing practices in the Middle East. The 2015 edition is the largest Effie MENA event to date according to the organizers.

The most effective marketers have an “ability to find great insight and leverage it in a very interesting way,” according to Neal Davies, President and CEO of Effie Worldwide, adding that they also understand “what success looks like and the amount of collaboration and teamwork it takes to get there.”

The ‘Most Effective Marketing Team 2015’ went to the Coca Cola company.

The ‘Most Effective Advertising Agency 2015’ went to FP7 Dubai, which also won ‘Most Effective Agency Network 2015’.
