du Goes Dark For Earth Hour

duAs major cities in the world participated in the Earth Hour on March 25, 2017, the UAE also has its own share of companies contributing and switching off non essential lights. In line with its ongoing support of sustainability initiatives, du flipped the switches and went dark for Earth Hour. The telecom company also encouraged its customers to do the same at home between 8:30 and 9:30 PM in support of the #ChangeClimateChange movement.

In the building with du offices, all du occupied floors had switched off lights.

“Energy conservation is a major part of our sustainability initiatives, and we are proud to support Earth Hour, and encourage our customers to do the same, year after year. One small flip of the light switch, on a mass scale, can have a significant impact on energy conservation,” said Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communication, du.

Khaleej Times also acknowledged the initiative by having its website go ‘dark’ for one hour.
