One may say, about time, but the Global Effies will finally be seeing a juror from the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region in its 2018 edition.
This year the Global Effie competition, that celebrates marketing communication efforts that have proven their effectiveness in multiple markets around the world, will be judged by global marketers in Singapore, São Paulo, New York and London.
Having won close to a hundred Effie Awards, Tahaab Rais, FP7/MENA’s Regional Head of Strategy and MENA Truth Central Director, will be joining the judging sessions in Singapore.
FP7/MENA has been ranked The Most Effective Network of the Year in MENA for five consecutive years, along with ranking as one of the top regional networks globally. Its agency in Dubai, FP7/DXB has also been ranked The Most Effective Agency in MENA for five consecutive years, along with ranking in the top four agencies in the world globally in the Global Effie Index for the past four consecutive years.
“With our enduring focus on effectiveness, making a meaningful difference to our partners’ brands and being cognizant that our industry is founded in creativity with commercial success, it makes me very proud to have our strategy lead to be judging at the Global Effies. We have maintained a top four global ranking in the Global Effie Index, for a number of years and intend to continually challenge our peers across the globe. Representing our region positively has always been of great importance to FP7 and we don’t take the responsibility lightly,” said Tarek Miknas, Chief Executive Officer, FP7/MENA in a press statement.
“As FP7, we are happy to represent MENA having believed in effectiveness and endorsed it for the past five years consistently. I’d first like to thank Suzanne Powers, our Global CSO at McCann Worldgroup, for the nomination. And I’d like to thank Tarek Miknas, our CEO, for supporting this opportunity and allowing for the time. I am humbled, happy and grateful,” said Mr Rais.
He added, “As an advocate of creative effectiveness as the one true way to survive, I’m also very excited to look at the best work out there, learn from it, hopefully do justice to it by selecting the best work, and bring back what I’ve learnt and share it; not just with our agency network but also, with all the agencies out here in MENA, through the MENA Effies.”
