Michael Nederlof, the out-going CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network MENA, who would be leaving the region to take up another role at the Network, spoke candidly to the team behind the #OnTheCouchWith series — James Welch and Gilles G Vidal.
James Welch tells us, group CEOs always have to juggle many businesses, interests and all the associated problems and opportunities. Michael Nederlof is an athlete, a mentor, a businessman and a tough negotiator all at once, albeit not necessarily in that order.
He may be a strategist at heart but in these interviews he came across as a realist where acquisition is a key focus, a pragmatist when it comes to data and clearly optimistic about the opportunities this region presents.
What’s more, nurturing the right talent is important to Mr Nederlof. He speaks about his attitude to providing the best environment to work in for his teams in today’s fast moving world. Finally, he imparts his advice to the next generation, “anything is possible”.
Cashflow: International clients less risk… Regional clients more risk.
What happens next: Acquisition and bigger offices
Data: We need more, but be careful. We don’t overdo it.
