With the lift on sanctions, Iran may well be on its way to be the biggest market joining the global economy. The upsurge of this can lead to billions of dollars worth of business from local and foreign companies taking place in the country and shifting the economic balance in the Gulf.

A recent mobile survey in Iran by On Device Research indicated a wealth of opportunities for international companies looking to access the huge Iranian market. It also studies the consumer attitudes towards the sanctions coming down and the opportunity for foreign companies to sell goods and services into the market.

Speaking about these results and the opportunity for foreign companies, Alistair Hill, CEO and Co-Founder of On Device Research said, “It’s incredibly interesting to see the aspirational nature of the Iranians and their excitement towards sanctions coming down. The results of the survey show there is a huge opportunity for western companies to sell their goods and services in Iran.”

The survey revealed that 85 per cent of Iranians believed that the removal of the sanctions will impact their lives. They believe that this will provide newer opportunities, impact purchasing of goods and services and make them more connected to the world.

58 per cent of Iranian consumers are interested in working in a foreign company and of those 83 per cent would be interested in working in a US company.

73 per cent of Iranians said that they would be interested in purchasing imported goods. The major reason for this is the improved quality with 87 per cent perceiving Germany to be their choice of good products followed by US.
