One of this week’s highlight was the Cannes film festival. The festival was filled with glamorous actors and artists from around the globe. And while everyone was in awe of Sonam Kapoor’s red carpet look, Bollywood’s leading actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received a mixed reaction on her bold lip color. Though many liked her bold avatar, unfortunately she also became the center of many Twitter trolls.

This week also saw the conclusion of the English premier league. While there was no doubt that Leicester would be crowned champions this year, the fight for the fourth position between the Derby teams Manchester United and Manchester City went till the last match of the series. Though ManU’s match was delayed because of a bomb scare, Man city drew their match with Swansea to all but seal the fourth spot. Manchester United later went on to win their last match but it was not enough.

The Europa League final match was also played this week between the English team Liverpool and Spanish team Sevilla who were also the defending champions. Sevilla won the match 3-1 and became the first team to win the UEFA Cup/Europa League three times in a row; it was their fifth title overall. The match excitement was seen on twitter #UELFFinal trending over the last two days.

The Panama papers leak impact is still seen in Pakistan. With the trending hashtag #HisaabDoNawaz in Dubai, it is clear that this time Pakistan is in no mood to forgive their minister. Hopefully justice is served in a peaceful manner in this case. And while on this matter of desire for peace, another bomb blast was witnessed in Baghdad killing at least 70 and injuring many others, mostly in the Shia region increasing the pressure on the current government. People showed their support for the victims using #Baghdad.

And finally Egypt Air Flight #MS804 has disappeared 10 miles inside Egyptian airspace today morning. It is believed to be carrying 59 passengers and 10 crew on the Airbus A320. It is difficult to believe with the current advanced technology, planes still disappear. Hoping all the passengers and crew member are safe and will be traced soon. #EgyptAir is seen trending over twitter.
